Amongst best places for breakfast in London

Boulangerie Bon Matin is all about modern French-style cuisine. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to nurse it. Pastries, breads, croissants and muffins are lined up on the counter and the smell greets you when you walk in. Opt for a Danish, French toast or crepes with plenty of fillings for breakfast. If sweets are not your thing, there’s also eggs several ways and smoothies too.

Below is a sample of our customers opinions about our cakes:

“Beautiful cake and coffee”

Reviewed 9 April 2015
We went here after having had our main course at another restaurant not far away. We had decided not to have pudding at the other restaurant, but when we happened upon this restaurant we felt drawn in by the cakes in the window. We ordered coffee and cake. We were spoilt for choice, there were such a variety of inviting cakes, finally I picked the lemon drizzle and my friend had the apricot crumble. The apricot crumble had a hidden whole fruit in the centre. The drizzle cake was very moist and lemony. We bought extra cakes to take home and share as they were so good. The coffee was smooth and not bitter, when you drink black coffee I feel it is important that it isn’t bitter. I would certainly recommend this place, staff were friendly and professional.

“A bit on the dear side but delicious cake guaranteed!”

Popped in for a pitstop on Saturday afternoon with a friend. Service was welcoming and friendly and the place itself is very nicely decorated and laid out. The open presentation of some very delicious looking lunch options and the cakes definitely is appetising and approachable.

We only had cake and a drink but was quite pleased. My friend has a stellar chocolate cheese cake and I tucked into a beautiful homemade apple and blueberry cake. Lush.

Boloungarie Bon Matin

Check out this loot! I popped to Boulangerie Bon Matin near Finsbury Park earlier on this snowy day. I have made a resolution to not buy bread this month, as a way to encourage myself to bake more bread. (I will post up my favourite bread recipe once I’ve tested it a few more times). However due to the snowy weather and busy uni demands, I fancied buying some bread from a bakery- it totally doesn’t count.

Boulangerie Bon Matin, which roughly translates to “good morning boulangerie”, bakes all it’s good onsite and has a lovely team to serve you. Along the counter are a selection of sandwiches (which are displayed open), cakes, pastries and muffins. In the window are yet more pasties and breads. I picked up a white stick baguette, which was still really crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and two pastries. The pain au chocolat was dusted with icing sugar and sprinkled with chocolate sauce. You could see the individual layers of pastry all twisted up together and the inside was pure chocolate ganache. I am having the croissant with jam and honey for breakfast tomorrow as the assistant said it should last until the morning. Oh, I also grabbed a hot chocolate as it is freezing outside and it was so smooth and divine and yummy and sugary and ahhh! A perfect way to warm up in the snow.

Boulangerie Bon Matin can be found at 178 Tollington Park, N4 3AJ, and is open every morning from 7am-6:30pm. It serves a selection of pastries, breads, soups, crepes, juices and fresh coffee which you can eat-in or take away. The white tile walls and grey accessories are a comfy and old-style setting for this little cafe, and I will be sure to check it out for lunch soon.
